Book report
Nate you should check out 1812 the Rivers of War by Eric Flint. It is a well written alternate history based around Ensign Sam Houston not being horribly injured leading his famous charge against the Creek. The story line is believable with a great portrait of the childish temper and devilish cunning of Andrew Jackson. In addition the battles are as finely wraught as any I have come across in the fiction arena. 1824 the Arkansas War is a sequel that I will pick up soon. Dave are you still playing guitar? If so, I may have a book for you as well....

I'll look for it in the library or at the barnes & noble if they dont have it. I need something else to read; i am still waiting for cornwell's latest saxon edition to come out in america. you should try your hand at patrick o'brian. he has the best grasp of both history and, more importantly, of the english language of any author i have ever read (though i am not the most well read of people) if you like i can bring you the first of his series to let you borrow and see if you like it on new years

Okay, who is the author of those books that You and NAte like...the "Pale Horse" and others. Dave's little brother likes historical stuff, and he like to read...I thought something by that aurthor would be nice. Name please? :)
Bernard Cornwell is I believe whom you are referring to stevie. He is an amazing writer of detailed historical fiction. Either the grail quest series or the king arthor series would be a good start.
