i would like to put in the disclaimer that i do respect the sport of soccer, even if most of the players at the professional levels. . . . i have the formings of a witty remark about their proper placement being on a swim team for all of their diving, but it refuses to take full shape. well anyway the sport is not a point of ridicule, unless you try to compare it to rugby ;)
Cheers,
Nate
I believe the comment you're looking for is "I haven't seen diving that good since the 3m springboard at the Summer games in Sydney." I'm glad that most US players have more respect for themselves than to pull that crap.
Incidentally, official FIFA rules allow a Yellow Card for intentional diving. The only card (for diving) I remember seeing in an international match was against Saudi Arabia during the 2006 world cup.
Why do you guys have to dog on those professional atheletes? That one injury where they had to put the cold water on... well I bet that turned red and may have SWOLLEN! And that second game: what in the name of Nike was that? I think I played it in grade school, we called it kill the man with the ball. Go and find a rule book and scribble some notes in it! I mean sure they didnt look hurt; they were all stoned. When the beer and vegemite ran low, I bet they tried to pour some cold water on what ailed them as well....
well now, there isn't much a little bit of the magic water won't cure, sure enough.
