Hear Ye! (if ye be interested)

The 2007 MSA conference is officially over and quite a success. After about 16 hours in the car, I am home safely. Tomorrow the work starts! I need to update my CV because I got three requests for it! Two of the three, I am interested in the work and the location: even better! One is with Tom Horton at SUNY and the other is with Amy Rossman at USDA, Beltsville MD. I rocked my talk, after preparing it a few mere hours before giving it, and ended up making it into the final few to be decided upon for the graduate student talk! Ari was impressed, needless to say, and is interested in pursuing some different more ambitious projects for me before I am done. People seemed to come out of the woodwork with positive feedback for me. I even got invited to speak at The Field Museum in the future... all to say, the conference went very well. Oh and there was also beer and dancing and great food and beer and me educating the imports on the art of mojo and beer. I don't know where exactly this is taking me, but I do know that I feel confident. I spent a whole evening out with a group where a gentleman from the Field spent the evening attempting to convince me that a host of potential scientists would miss out if I chose not to research and train students.... I will keep you posted!

(sorry for no pics, my camera got lost in the humidity)

CONGRATS, thats great!!! good to hear it, I assume a CV is like a resume and you just got back from a conference where you impressed a lot of industry and academia big wigs with your smoove-iosity... seriousily though, good job, make us proud.

smoove-iosity???

I though only the biologist got to make up words like that?

smoove-itude to be more accurate, but i forgive you nate. i was told the abbreviations were confusing, so MSA = mycological society of america, CV = really long resume.

We always knew that you had an art for BS, so BSing about stuff actually KNOW (and like, are excited about, etc.) should win over the populace. We always knew you had it in you - now so does everyone else. Good job. :)

The OLD FOLKS in Jefferson are still waiting on the PAPER in a frame. We have listened to the smoove-itude his entire life. We just don't have all the scientific knowledge his brain entertains. I expect he will continue to Smooze anybody that will listen, and love him anyway, even though we know in advance he is full of it!
